Afterschool Clay for Tweens 11-14

Our after-school Clay Exploration Program invites students to dive into the world of wheel throwing. Throughout the session, students will practice teamwork, spark their imagination, and learn foundational wheel throwing techniques. They’ll create both functional and sculptural ceramic pieces while building confidence and community in a supportive studio environment.

This class is perfect for beginners and returning students alike. Students will learn the fundamentals of centering clay on the wheel and creating basic forms like cylinders, bowls, and more. This 6-week spring series will bring a new adventure to our young friends. Students will be expected to clean up after themselves with our guidance. 

Lessons are guided by student interest, with wheel throwing as the main focus. Handbuilding techniques will also be introduced when they support your creative goals. Each class begins with a demonstration, followed by dedicated wheel time.

Please send your child with a snack, hair tied back, cloths they are okay getting clay on and a water bottle.
