Slab-Built Lamp Workshop (2-Part Series)
Sunday, January 11 · 10:00–3:00
Sunday, January 25 · 2:00–4:00
Taught by Jane Raymond of @the.jane.look
Brighten your winter with a one-of-a-kind slab-built ceramic lamp! In this two-part workshop, you’ll learn how to design, build, and assemble a functional lamp using handbuilding techniques. Whether you’re new to clay or an experienced maker ready for a new challenge, this immersive workshop offers a creative, hands-on experience and a finished piece you can proudly display at home.
In Part 1, you’ll spend the day building your lamp base using slab techniques, shaping and refining your form with guidance from instructors Jane Raymond and Dyana Fiediga. You’ll have time to add texture, cutouts, or decorative touches that make your lamp uniquely yours.
In Part 2, after your piece has been fired and glazed, you'll return to complete the final assembly, and wire your lamp using the provided fixture materials.
(Please note: lamp shades are not included.)
All completed lamps can be showcased at our Celebration of Lights in February—a beautiful way to share your work with our studio community and brighten up our dark days!
